After barely getting by Japan earlier in the week, the U.S. Women's Softball team fell short today losing to Japan in the gold medal match 3-1. This is the first time the U.S. Women's team has lost since 2000.

Oh well. The sport is leaving the Olympics just when there is a real rivalry beginning to brew. Maybe in eight years it will still be alive.
On a brighter note the U.S. Women's Futbol (soccer) team has won another gold by beating Brazil 1-0 in a match in which they were totally outplayed.
