Bo Language Has Died

One of the oldest extant languages is extant no more. The last known speaker of the Bo language has passed away. Here is a story about her and the Andamanese people that live on islands in the Bay of Bengal. They are of presumed African origin given their skin tones and features and have likely been there for tens of thousands of years.

Bo was one of several languages spoken by the various Andamanese peoples. One other group the Sentinelese are described as the most isolated people on the planet, openly resisting any interaction with people outside of the island. You can read more about them below.

Lost Premiere Footage

Not surprisingly the first real post of return concerns the show 'Lost'. In the scene below we see the last couple of minutes of the finale from last year followed by an alternate version of the season 1 crash scene with some interesting differences. I think that Jack has a kind of unconscious understanding of his other reality similar to young Locke "remembering" the Smoke Monster.

Bode Miller Unlikely to Go to 2010 Games

My favorite winter sports star and all-around loose cannon, Bode Miller, is telling reporters that he is unlikely to participate in the 2010 games. From the sound of it it is driven mainly by his desire to avoid the bureaucracy and bullshit of U.S. skiing officials. Sad. His one-of-a-kind unorthodox style is a lot of fun to watch.

Judging by the content of this article it appears that the city is planning to remove everything fun about the event. First Castro Halloween and now Bay to Breakers. I moved up here too late. :-(
